TITLE: Substitute Roving Nutrition Helper
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Prepare and serve food to students and staff and may serve as cashier. Travels to cafeterias within district and performs required functions as cafeteria helper. Maintains standards of safety, sanitation and cleanliness in the kitchen and cafeteria.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education and/or experience equivalent to a High School Diploma or GED preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience to successfully perform essential duties.
- One (1) year food handling experience.
- Food Handlers Card (required).
- Must have transportation for the ability to travel to more than one work location in the course of a day as assigned.
- State of Arizona Identity Verified (IVP) Fingerprint Clearance Card
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepares food to be served to students and staff.
- Cleans and prepares fruits and vegetables and various salads.
- Follow recipes and cook food for proper time and to proper temperature.
- May slice meat and cheeses for sandwiches, and wrap and bag ala carte items.
- Put food into serving dishes as required.
- Perform preparation tasks.
- Set up and replenishes serving lines and serves customers in food service units.
- Keep accurate count of food served and left over.
- Maintain cleanliness of dining room and kitchen areas.
- Sweep and mop floor.
- Operate and clean food service equipment.
- Use computer to cashier at meals and may be required to re-count money taken from students and staff.
- Inventory area and completes required forms.
- Maintain sanitation, health and safety standards in work area.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

- Knowledge of appropriate food handling methods and techniques
- Knowledge of district food service policies and procedures
- Knowledge of food service operations including sanitation standards and food preparation
- Knowledge of food service equipment
- Skill establishing and maintaining effective working relationships
- Ability to effectively communicate
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Works around dangerous machinery
Exposure to infectious disease and potential physical harm
PHYSICAL EFFORT:
May require lifting up to 45 pounds.
